Erez blends the delicateness of Middle Eastern music, the freedom found in jazz and the passion of flamenco, creating a unique sound of his own. Recipient of the 2014 ACUM Prize for Special Achievement in Jazz and the prestigious 2014 Landau Prize, Erez, in addition to sharing the stage with Tekbilek, has performed in concert with Tomatito, Avishai Cohen, Jean-Louis Matinier and Zohar Fresco among others. He has performed across Canada and in the USA, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Cyprus, Israel, India, Tunisia and Colombia.
He has released two CDs with his quartet, The Adama Ensemble: Desert Song (2006) and Hommage (2010). His 2013 duo release, New Dawn, is a collaboration with percussionist Yshai Afterman with special guest Antonio Serrano on harmonica. A new recording of Erez`s recent compositions will be released in 2019.
Erez is on the guitar faculty at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music. He gives workshops and master classes in the Lower Mainland and on tour, teaching his unique approach to music and guitar playing. His new book Exercises & Etudes, an Advanced Method for the Fingerstyle Guitarist was released March 2016.
