Addo Records is a new Canadian jazz label launching in October 2009. Showcasing the best of current jazz artists, Addo Records is dedicated to creating high quality music recordings, while maintaining a fair and equal partnership with each of its artists. Profits from CD sales are shared equally between the artist and label, and the role of the CD is to promote the artists performance career. The recordings are made in high resolution and feature some of the best jazz composers and performers. Early releases include the Kirk MacDonald Quartet with Kirk MacDonald (saxophones), David Virelles (piano), Neil Swainson (bass), and Barry Romberg (drums); The Ted Quinlan Trio featuring Ted Quinlan (guitar), Kieran Overs (bass), and Ted Warren (drums); and Fieldtrip featuring Colin Power (alto), Patrick Reid (bass), Mark Nelson (drums), with special guests Kelly Jefferson (saxophones), and Jim Head (guitar). The Label is releasing all 3 initial CDs at a triple launch October 4, 2009 at Hugh's Room in Toronto.
